Thanks to Red Bull, the U.K artist, designer, graffer, famous for his highly stylized letter form SheOne will be coming to Australia for the No Comply Melbourne exhibition, so we’ve teamed him up with local lad Meggs for a live painting show the night after the launch. SheOne and Meggs will be live painting at the yet to be named new venue near Victoria market in Melbourne city, for what will be a dope exhibition of the two artists styles and a huge party.
There’s been allot going on with ths show since we first posted the line-up a few months ago, including some last minute additions to the show. With the deadline a couple of weeks away, its safe to say this is the final massive lineup of our show this year. From a cool catch-phrase to the latest fashion accessory seen in a movie, memes propagate themselves through cultures like a virus. Memes are the face of the connections that join us across nations and cultures. The Meme exhibition is a visual narrative of this connection by a collective of 5 Melbourne photographers who intersected through the landscape of new media. After his successful Tall Oaks exhibition in Sydney, Reka is touring this collection back to his hometown, Melbourne (Thurs 29th May 08). In this collection, the core focus is on the fragile relationship we have with nature. Themes such as Love, Hate, Life, Death, Greed and Charity have been explored with influence from Folk-Lore and Fantasy styled illustration.
