Between April 29th and May 1st, Melbourne’s Federation Square will play host to CARBON, a unique cultural event that brings together some of today’s most progressive creative minds to present, discuss and share their experiences with local audiences via a series of four discussion forums.
Each forum will be focused on a specific aspect of contemporary street fashion, design and culture. The Carbon discussion forums are: -Beyond the Brand -Building a T-shirt Label -The Art of Hype (media and communication in the digital age) -Craftsmanship & Imagination
The first round of confirmed guest speakers includes: Futura (NYC); one of the world’s most renowned street and modern artists, Noah Callahan-Bever (NYC); editor-in-chief of Complex Magazine and complex.com; Bobby Hundreds (LA); co-founder of one of the most successful independent clothing labels today The Hundreds, Matt Thomas (Perth, AUS); of Highs and Lows co-founder of the highly successful Highs And Lows menswear and sneaker boutiques, Frank Liew (Auckland, NZ); owner and founder of internationally renowned boutiques Qubic and Quarters, blogger for hypebeast.com and cultural influencer; Greg Rivera (NYC); Founder of highly successful street label Mishka, Chooee Hwang (Singapore); Founder of South East Asian culture site and brand promotion company streething.com.
Each of these hard working entrepreneurs has had a significant impact on the realms of style, design and culture today. These speakers will be joined by further creative luminaries, picked for their respective success stories and creative insight.
The Carbon discussion forums will be accompanied by several art and photographic shows and exclusive parties including the official launch party to be held at Federation Square’s Atrium on Friday 29th.
